Mexico

It doesn't have to be
the day of the dead to adorn buildings
w/skeletons in Oaxaca.
Nadine loving that architecture and color.
Street music is a big part of the Mexican culture. In the evenings people stroll down to the Zocalo (Mexican version of the town square) for live performances of music, acting, and clowning.
All ages get into the fun of sending these torpedo balloons soaring into the sky at night.

Nadine, owner of Topanien Gifts travels to Mexico annually to bring us whimsical Alebrijes, Day of the Dead Folkart, Painted Tin Folkart and high grade Sterling Silver jewelry.

She explores the Silver Markets of Taxco, visits Alebrije craftspeople in San Martin Tilcajete, explores the streets of Cuernavaca, stays with Mexican friends in Oaxaca and feels the pulse of the culture.

El Zocalo - Mexico's Town Square

The Zocalo (town square) in Oaxaca, Mexico is the place to be seen at night. Enjoy live music, food, crafts and balloons. It is families, couples, performers, tourists and vendors.

"My family and I go to the Zocalo almost every night while we are in Oaxaca. The kids don't want to miss running around with other kids and torpedoing their long balloons. My husband likes the music and me? I go in for the color, the noise and the year round summer temperature." -Nadine
